Introduction to Surah Yusuf
Surah Yusuf contains a history of Prophet Yusuf from start to finish. It is the 12th chapter of the Holy Quran, relating to the basic themes of patience, faith, and forgiveness through the vacation of Yusuf, from his being thrown into the well by his brothers to his rising as a mighty leader in Egypt. It reveals how character building by Yusuf, based on trust in Allah, made him finally successful and reunited him with his family. This Surah provides the Muslim with many lessons concerning hardships or misfortunes and the steadfastness required in faith.
