Introduction to Ar-Rad
The 13th chapter of the Quran is Surah Ar-Ra’d. This Surah got its name from the “thunder” mentioned therein. It deals with the signs of Allah’s power and the reality of His Message. It thus stresses faith and points out the warnings against its opposite attitude, that is, disbelief. The natural world also testifies to Allah’s greatness and control over everything.
It especially testifies to the rolling of thunder and flashes of lightning as manifestations of Allah’s grandeur and power. It shows that Surah Ar-Ra summons people to hold fast to their faith and support themselves with trust in Allah’s wisdom and guidance.
