Introduction of Surah Al-Qamar
Surah Al-Qamar is the 54th Surah in the Holy Quran and contains 55 verses. Its name, “Al-Qamar,” signifies “The Moon,” it begins recounting the miracle of the splitting moon as an omen to the people. Several warnings of the nations of ancient times, such as that of Nuh, Thamud, and Lu’t, who had denied the Message of Allah Ta’ala and received the worst punishment, are present in this Surah. This reminds us that the signs of Allah are plain enough, but most of them turn away. The Surah repeats learning from some past mistakes and how believers must stand by the guidance of Allah lest they meet the same fate as earlier people.
