Introduction of Surah Naziat
Surah An-Nazi’at is the 79th surah in the Quran and contains 46 verses. It starts with a description, giving the angels the holy assignment to take souls at the instant of death, softly for the good and gently, but with great severity, for the wicked. The Day of Judgment, dramatized in this surah, depicts how the dead shall rise once again and how the earth itself shall shake and tremble. It also reminds one of the story of Prophet Musa, who was against Pharaoh, proud and scornful of the message from God. This pride of his brought upon him the worst divine punishment. This surah calls for reflection upon the origin, refuge with God, and preparation for life after this world.
