iNtroduction of Surah Al-Hijr
Al-Hijr is the 15th chapter of the Quran with 99 verses. The term “Al Hijr” is named after a rocky area of the people of Thamud, a people who disbelieved in Allah’s message and were given punishment. This Surah mentions many aspects dealing with the proofs of Allah’s power through creation and His giving of life and death. It warns those who reject the prophets and incessantly disregard guidance from Allah.
This sura tells the tales of the ancient destroyed nations—those of Prophet Luṭ (Lot), Thamuḍ —for what evil they did. It calls for patience in believers who trust and accept God’s plan with firm faith.
