Introduction of Surah As-Saffat
Surah As-Saffat, the 37th chapter of the Holy Quran, contains 182 verses. Its name is “As-Saffat,” which means “Those Who Stand in Rows,” meaning the angels who stand in rows and lines, always ready to take God’s commands. The surah explains in exquisite words the greatness of God and the wonders of the heavens and earth.
Again, it relates stories about the earlier prophets, Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), Prophet Ismail (Ishmael), Prophet Yunus (Jonah), and so forth, which elaborate on their belief and trust in God. Their memories remind people of Judgment Day: both worldly prizes for good men and torture will await those who reject truth. It advises believers to build up their faith’s strength and follow the righteous path traced out by the prophets.
