Introduction of Surah Alaq
The 96th chapter of the Quran is made up of 19 verses. However, more importantly, it is considered the first revelation to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Surah starts with a call from the divine to “Recite,” which means a lot, as God created man from a clot of blood and taught him everything he knew. These verses call for acquiring knowledge and being thankful to God. It further warns one against pride and informs him that all are to return unto God to face accountability. The surah encourages modesty; it stresses striving for knowledge throughout life.
