Introduction to Surah Al-Anfal
Surah Al-Anfal is the eighth chapter of the Holy Quran and contains 75 verses. Its name, “The Spoils of War,” discusses the shares of spoils taken in warfare after the Battle of Badr. It contains guidance on warfare principles, how the Muslim should conduct himself while fighting, and the treatment of prisoners. It harps on unity, faith, and obedience to the Will of Allah and deals with the full consequences of victory as much as defeat in the light of divine justice and moral behavior.
